I recently way playing around with yahoo pipes and thought is was a useful tool in it own right, but what I had found out was there are some very clever people out there who really get the most out of the service. If you’re not familiar with Pipes they are a composition tool to aggregate, manipulate, and mash-up content from around the web. You can then take web data and create rss feeds, klm’s, power widgets and badges.
Here is a basic one using google base as a car search.
But I found some great mash-ups people have created out there such as this local pipe aggregator for the iphone, searches for any ting local on your Iphone.
You can also use badges which you can place on your site, there are three badges, Maps, Pictures, and Lists so you can aggregate data from Google Maps, Flicker and others to create and image pipe. Here is a basic video on how it all works
You can also shop with pipes, Create a pipe with google base or Amazon and it will shoot you back all the best deals as they happen.
So the big question is how do you leverage this application for business? Well, I have created a special report on how to use Pipes for Business. To get your copy please fill out the form below.
